What hardware / software do I need to configure my laptop so I can be truly wireless?
I have a laptop more … it works very good and is pretty fast. I've connected my cable modem now and I've never had to put in place a wireless computer (I've had desktop computers in the past). Thus, although I am very familiar with computers, I do not have the slightest clue how it works with a laptop. A friend of mine gave me a Netgear WPN511 RangeMax kind of Wireless PC Card, but I do not know what to do with it. I downloaded the drivers for it, but I think I miss something between here and there in so far as equipment goes. Perhaps someone better informed would be willing to help me with this? It would be greatly appreciated Kay
Plug the card. When Windows is looking for the driver, check the "have" the disk, then point the driver files. It takes about find and connect. If not, what version of Windows and what Service Pack level?
