Bad router?!?

I have a Netgear RangeMax 240 WPNT834 Wireless Router Verizon DSL I have. My modem is a Westell 6100, I tried several times to set up a router and several people have tried to put in place. No luck, I tried powercycling, restart the network different settings, and everything else I could think of including rebooting the router using the little button on the back. When I set up I'll just the installation disk. When I finished he said that I'm connected. I try to view a Web page and it says page can not be displayed.
